Tiffany Folmeg is a sculptor, printmaker and photographer residing in Newmarket, Ontario. Her practice consists of traditional techniques such as carving stone and woodblock printmaking along with analog & digital photography. This beautiful world is the drive to her inspiration; she explores and travels near and broad, which strongly impacts her use of raw and natural materials.
Tiffany also teaches visual arts at various institutions across York Region including the YRDSB; which include stone carving, woodblock printing, sculpture, painting, drawing and photography. She acquired her BFA with Special Honours from York University and her Teaching and Learning Diploma from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. Having the opportunity to live and travel to such places as Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and India has had great guidance on her artwork. Experiences and involvement with traditional art forms from these locations granted her insight for further conceptual developments.
Currently, Tiffany is fundraising in order to venture into stone and wood representations of human anatomical features to carve a life-sized human skeleton and organs. The intention is to display the final piece in public medical settings to encourage education and donations to the Heart & Stoke Foundation and the Canadian Mental Health Association.
